Education Business Partnership
Students and teaching staff benefit enormously from the influence of employers, they can be given a clear idea of the skills, attributes and qualities employers are looking for.
By working with The EBP, employers can prepare students for the challenges and rewards in the world of employment and aid the transition to their chosen career.
There are many ways in which employers can become involved with The EBP. Business may wish to set an ‘Embedding Enterprise Challenge’. Host businesses will are invited to set a "real life" challenge for students to work on, teachers will be invited to spend time on the business premises to gain an insight into their processes and pass on this information to their students to aid them in completing the challenge. The business is also invited to judge the entries, attend an awards ceremony and present awards to the challenge winners. Your business may wish to offer a ‘Professional Development Opportunity’ for teachers. This may involve allowing teachers onto your business premises and being given tours and talks about the processes and challenges encountered in your industry.
There are many other ways in which businesses can become involved with The EBP, including the provision of Work Experience placements or becoming an Ambassador for your industry. All of which not only help influence and develop the employability skills of the employees of tomorrow but can also help generate publicity for your organisation and create opportunities for developing a Corporate Social Responsibility programme, links with the local community and developing the skills of your workforce.
