The new record book has been recommended by QCA as a model of good practice and is currently being used by a number of bordering EBPs, supporting consistency for out of county placements.
Unlike our previous record books, the new version contains full colour engaging graphics throughout and has been designed and tailored for its target audience (Yr 10 and above). Two versions are available - Entry Level and Level 2. Both versions are accredited by the awarding body ncfe providing a bespoke certificate qualification - ncfe Skills, Knowledge and Attributes for the Workplace.
In summary the new record book has the following attributes:
Full colour throughout with engaging graphics aimed at the student
A5 size
The Content is mapped across to the Work-related Learning Framework, Personal Learning and Thinking Skills, Every Child Matters Agenda, and Key Skills, allowing it to support diploma in addition to general curriculum
The Content supports preparation and de-brief activities in addition to recording of actual placement attendance
Accreditation - Bespoke certificate available - ncfe Skills, Knowledge and Attributes for the Workplace at either Entry Level or Level 2.
Accreditation - The publishers are also currently working with QCA to have the bespoke qualification recognised as half a GCSE and to carry CAT points by having it added on to the qualification framework. We are informed that QCA are currently reviewing the record book to see if this can be added to the qualification framework and are 'very optimistic" that this may be done for September 2009. Further information will be provided once received.
