The students, Chris Lovely, Caroline Smith, Ian Vickers and Jeanine Delaney came up with the idea during a business studies lesson and have developed the idea into what will be a high-profile event, taking place on Saturday 6th February 2010.
The black-tie event will be held at Kenwick Park Hotel, Louth and will include a a Disco, 3 Course Meal and a Charity Auction. The evening will start at 7pm and tickets are £30.
We met up with the students when they attended our EBP Dragons' Den event in Louth. They pitched their idea to our panel of lady Dragons and the outcomes were unbelievable!
We would like to follow their progress and have asked the students to keep us updated every few weeks as to how they are progressing.
Jeanine Delaney from the team tells us about their progress so far:
18 November 2009:
We attended the EBP Dragons' Den event in Louth, we were extremely grateful for the opportunity and support offered. We all feel that the EBP Dragons' Den has developed our confidence, given us valuable feedback and a brilliant professional experience. Outcomes of the day included not only great advice from the Dragons but support with the selling of tickets, ideas to move forward and even the design and printing of our tickets!!
26 November 2009:
Progress is coming on and we are pleased with how things are going. The Dragons suggested that rather than raising money for Teenage Cancer Trust as a whole we look at trying to raise money for a specific item. We are waiting to hear back from Teenage Cancer Trust on what specific equipment that we could raise money for.
The Band has not been confirmed as of yet, though live entertainment will be chosen very soon.
I have spoken to the rest of the Dragons and so far a draft of the tickets design is being drawn up, Julia Whittaker (one of the Dragons) is also arranging for us to meet with the Louth Rotary Club for more support. The others are giving us contacts nearer the time in order to sell tickets.
10 December 2009:
Carole Broster (one of the Dragons) has made a ticket design so we are ready to start selling!!! Ian Vickers is getting us more and more donations to raffle/auction so things are looking good!!
More updates to come in the near future!!
